Watervliet, NY

Otherwise known as the Arsenal City, Watervliet, New York, is one of Upstate New York's oldest established communities. Founded by the Dutch during the 17th century, Watervliet is home to the Watervliet Arsenal -- established in 1813 during the War of 1812 -- known as the country's oldest federal arsenal.

Across the Hudson River from Troy, New York, north of New York's state capitol, minutes to Interstate 787 and the Adirondack Northway, Watervliet is considered a central locale not only for commutes to Albany for work, but also to large retail centers both north and south of the city.

The Watervliet School district is comprised of the Watervliet Elementary School and the Watervliet High School
